# Azure DevOps and Projectify

Work items become tasks, parent links become subtasks, states become statuses. An agent reads the board as you in the browser; a personal token is optional, for scheduled syncs and write-back.

## How it works

- **States become statuses.** Your note says how the states map to the project's statuses; the agent decides each item's status from it and keeps what it learned on the board.
- **Parents become subtasks.** An item's parent link comes across, so after each batch the task becomes a subtask of its parent's task. A parent set by hand in Projectify stays.
- **Comments keep their names.** A copied comment shows its author on Azure DevOps and when they wrote it; a resync corrects a comment whose author or time changed.

## Set it up

1. **Add the board.** Setup › External boards: paste the board or query link, name it, pick the component it feeds and write what is there and what to read.
2. **Let an agent read it.** The agent opens the board in your signed-in browser, opens each work item in scope and sends what it read in batches of up to 50.
3. **Keep it current.** A resync opens only the items updated since. Store a personal access token once and the sync can run on a schedule and write changes back.

## What your agents see

A synced work item reads like the item: title, description, state, assignee, the comment thread with names and times, and its children as subtasks.

Whole threads come across up to 30 comments; a longer one shows the first and the latest 20 and marks the gap.
