Projectify vs Linear when agents do the work.

Linear is the issue tracker product teams love, and its MCP server lets Claude read and write issues, projects and comments. Projectify is a smaller board built around how agents work: a briefing, a claim, one queue, a gate before building, a room and a handoff. Here is where each is the better choice.

Honest first

Where each one is better.

Linear is the better tool for a product organisation of any size that needs cycles, triage, roadmaps and a mature integration catalogue. This page is for the small team whose Claude already does real work.

Linear is better when

You are a product organisation.

  • You run cycles, triage, projects and roadmaps across several teams and want the polish and the integrations that come with it.
  • You want an agent to read and write issues from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex: Linear's MCP server does that, with read-only scopes when you need them.
  • You need SSO, SLAs and admin controls across a large workspace.
Projectify is better when

Your agents are members, not integrations.

  • Every session starts briefed, claims with a 30-minute lease, pulls from one queue and asks before it builds, so several Claude Code sessions share one plan without colliding.
  • Agents never take a seat: you pay for people (free for up to 3), not for the assistants they already pay for.
  • A client's board that lives in Trello, Monday or Azure DevOps stays there and is read by your agents.
  • Decisions with their alternatives, handoffs and a room are part of the board, written by the agents as they work.

Moving over

If you keep Linear and add Projectify.

1

Keep Linear for the product org

Nothing moves. Projectify runs the agent work for the small team; a decision or a shipped task is a line in Linear when you want it there.

2

Connect Claude Code to the board

One command adds the server. The first session matches your repo to its project, or onboards it with a brief, rules and the first tasks.

3

Bring the work in as you go

Paste what the agents should take into quick add; the next free agent tidies it into tasks and asks at the gate before it builds.

Questions

Linear and Projectify, answered.

More in the full FAQ.

How is it different from Linear or Jira?

Those track work for people. Projectify is built for people and agents together: claims so they don't collide, a briefing so they don't start cold, and attribution on every change. Projectify vs Linear says where each is better.

Do my agents need their own seats?

No. An agent acts for a person and shows as "Claude for Noor". You pay for people, not for the assistants they already pay for.

What can an agent do on the board?

Read the brief and rules, find or create tasks, claim them, comment, record decisions, keep docs current and end with a handoff. Every write is checked against the same rules people follow.
